Birtley Town make their way to Mount Pleasant on Saturday to conclude three away games within a week.
The Hoops will be hoping that they can conclude a week of travelling with a third positive result on Saturday as they head to the seaside to face Marske. A 1-1 draw with Newton Aycliffe was followed up with a 2-1 success at Penrith on Tuesday. The Hoops have three consecutive home games to look forward too after the journey to the North Yorkshire coast. In team news, both Matthew Ward and Charlie Aitken will return to the squad to face The Seasiders. Aitken is sitting with nine goals already this season and Hoops supporters will be delighted to see their striker back in the squad after missing the midweek journey to Cumbria.
Birtley are unbeaten against Marske in their previous four games meetings including two wins and two draws. During that four game period, Scott Heslop has scored 6 times however he remains a long-term absentee. The Hoops will be hoping that their current attacking power can find their feet and continue our early season play-off hopes.
Marske have been in fine form at home this season and have already recorded victories over Shildon, Whitley Bay and Northallerton. The seasiders also recorded an impressive 1-1 draw with Easington with Blyth Town the only side to pick up three points from Mount Pleasant. Marske currently sit in 14th position in the league but have played the least amount of fixtures in the division (10) and have numerous games in hand on teams above them. During midweek, their tie at Horden was abandoned due to fog leaving them a further fixture behind.
The Hoops will be hoping for a strong away following as they look to continue their quest to remain around the play-off positions.
