BIRTLEY START THE SEASON AWAY TO BLYTH TOWN ON SATURDAY 25TH JULY WITH OUR FIRST HOME GAME AGAINST CROOK TOWN THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY 28TH.
Stand out fixtures also include Whickham at home on Boxing Day, and Easington Colliery away on the final day.
And just a week later we will welcome newly-promoted play-off winners Yarm & Eaglescliffe to the Arrowmark Home Improvements Stadium. As for Division Two’s champions – we will have to wait til gameweek 19 to face Redcar Town on October 20th away from home. The other two new sides to this year’s Division One are Bishop Auckland who we host on Tuesday 18th, and Newton Aycliffe who we will travel to on September 26th.
We have some new teams to welcome this season with five teams different to last season. And we will not have long to wait for the first of those with a visit to Blyth Town on the opening day of the season on Saturday 25th July. We will face Yarm & Eaglescliffe for the first time ever a week later at home on Saturday 1st August. They currently share a ground with Billingham Town where we have fond memories with promotion being sealed on our last visit to Bedford Terrace. Y&E were promoted via the playoffs with a win on penalties in the final against Jarrow. We are also set to face Newton Aycliffe for the first time in the league since 2011 when we travel there on September 26th. We have met since then in a penalty shootout defeat in the FA Vase in 2022. We will meet Yarm’s fellow promoted side Redcar Town – Division Two’s champions – in Division One for the first time on Tuesday 20th October away from home. They reached 100 points last season with a 3-0 win on the final day securing them the title. The final new addition is Bishop Auckland who we host on Tuesday 18th August at the Arrowmark Home Improvements Stadium before travelling to Heritage Park on Saturday 14th November.
